The Association has active, associate and supporting members.
Active membership is open to any firm, partnership, individual proprietorships or institutions which ...
- Has its chief office of business in Quebec;
- Is at least 80 % owned by persons who are Canadian citizens or landed immigrants;
- Is effectively controlled by persons who are residents in Quebec and are Canadian citizens or landed immigrants;
- Publishes original Canadian books as an important and substantial part of its business;
- Has in print not less than five original Canadian titles and an on-going publishing program of not less than one title a year, and has been in operation for at least two years from the date of publication of its first title;
- Has no more than 25 % of its books written by its principals;
- Is a member of ACP or other national organization.
Associate membership is open to any person who meets the above criteria, except that only two original Canadian titles need to have been published within the previous three years.
Supporting membership is open to any individual, firm, partnership, individual proprietorship, or institution which supports the objectives of the Association.
Membership fees are $50 for firms with less than $75,000 in annual sales (or $50 for non-publishers) and $100 for firms with more than $75,000 in annual sales.
Membership fees are due at the time of the Annual General Meeting in June.
